Hi guys. I picked up a China 2007 G-400 yesterday here in Brasil. It came in a SKB61 case(a really stinking one) for about $200, in conversion of today(3.85BRL=1USD) and that, here, is a freakin' deal.
It's a nice play. Some light wear, has neck joint cracks in both sides. A veneer.
Anyway, I guess everybody likes some photos to discuss......

.....aaaaaand I will post soon when i get to my computer because the forum doesn't accept my large pictures. Anyway, great instrument.

PS: the forum is saying that my links are spam.

Col. Mustard, will try to resize online in a minute, thanks for the help!

Tell me what you guys think about the cracks. I don't see any tuning instability or neck movement(edit: the P.O. said that this guitar was stored and moved for years in a gigbag). I was going to upload more photos, but it's a lot of work. Already put new strings and set it the freak up! It's verry Cherry!

Welcome to ETSG! Lots of us play and praise Epiphones on
these boards, especially the G 400. I've found that resizing my photos
to about 5x7@100 makes them load well here, and pop up quickly
and render detail adequately. In mm that's ~127x180 at 50px per cm.

Getting that SKB-61 case with your guitar really makes it an excellent
bargain. I recommend that case for any SG, and have one for my Wilshire
too. It might be worth almost half what you paid for the durn guitar.
I've had great service from mine.

So we'd all be delighted to see photos of your new old guitar.
We never seem to get tired of those.

thanks Mr. Mustard for the welcoming.
I really liked the case, pretty nice only not for the smell.
And congratulations on your band! I heard something at the website that's on your signature. Very refined acoustics and vocal stuff! Great work!

Nice catch guzz. A hell of a deal you got, even with the neck cracks.

Regarding those, to me they look structural, they're not just surface cracks. It seems to go under the fretboard on one side.

Do you have access to a good luthier in your area ? If so, it would be a good idea to ask him how much he would charge to glue it. Not a big job, maybe ½ hours or so, it should be cheap enough. But you have to know what you're doing.

If you're handy, you can do it yourself too.

I have access to really good luthiers here, but they would charge a lot of money to fix this little things.
And I don't feel they're structural man. Maybe later i'll try and take some more detailed pictures. They're really small in an area where the finish is a little thicker, and the body meets the neck.
edit: I mean I'm saying this because the thing doesn't move.. I tried to put in some extra force, to try and open a little so I could see the wood but the thing doesn't move a bit! and that lighter crack on the other side it's barely visible and doesn't even get to the base of the neck.

And by the way. There's a vintage guitar makers workshop near my place(Sao Paulo/Brasil) called Dunamiz. They make incredible SG's(not only). Please check em out! They also do pro setups and repairs. Maybe I'll stop by to ask them about the crack situation.
