Not a SG or a Gibson, but curious imposter.

So this isn't a SG ,or a Gibby , but I am too lazy to join another forum. Attached are pics of a certainly not-Gibson (homebrew-likely-junk-maybe) out of North Cali. I don't have hands on it so I can't evaluate it. Please tell me what you see! Thanks.

Interesting, yes. But definitely not of interest.

What makes you think it’s not a Gibson...

I was going to say Silvertone but yes you are right- Stratotone.
I have something similar. It appears to be a home built with hardware and electronics from a Kent. Gotta get it up and running for a slide guitar . FB_IMG_1573687889886.jpg FB_IMG_1573687886245.jpg FB_IMG_1573687882480.jpg FB_IMG_1573687879056.jpg FB_IMG_1573687875204.jpg

Low model stratotone. Not an imposter. These are fantastic guitars. Thick spruce top fully hollow. They can be amazing.

Mine Stratotone was actually a Silvertone. Harmony made them for several retailers. I've seen some labelled Alden.

Mine was a '63. Light body, full neck, afh844yjasw7l1quttlh.jpg Dearmond Hershey bar pickups that were super microphonic. Had a warm arch top type of sound.

My friend's dad had one of those when I was a kid. Had the matching amp as well. I loved that thing!

Thanks to everyone for the ID and pics. I am going to secure the guitar and try to bring it back to life. I hope the neck is OK.

I had an early 50's stratotone. Make sure the neck is straight. Most time, they aren't, and there is no truss rod.
