    I think it's kind of cool, actually. Unique, for sure and I'd probably do something like that on an Epi if I got it for $100 or so. I mean, why not?

    At $500, though, no way. The price is way too high.

    Based on the signature "thumbprint" heat spots on it, I'd say someone used a portable blowtorch on it. Many spots are visible where the person kept the flame on it longer than on other areas. Using a Bic lighter for the effect wouldn't be feasible.

    Those spots where it's all the way to the woodgrain shows the various angles he was holding the flame, too.

    Kinda looks cool. If it was cheap af and sounded good, I'd probably just keep it like that.

    Could not agree more. I was just assuming that mess in OP was some kind of accident like a burn from 115 degree heat or something.
