So, for the second time, I am struggling with P90 vertical pickup size / height. Each one is different. Taller pups and and stacked pups just do not seem to fit. What is a modder to do?

I am just amazed how much they vary. 4 brands of P90s = 4 different sizes.

Really ? What are the brands.
Up to now, all the ones I've bought were basically the same, but for the Gibson P90S (with slugs) that were thinner.

Stock pups on the SX Hawk (can't get the covers off, but the smallest even with the covers), Seymour Duncan (neck has base plate and is bigger than the SD bridge), Tom Anderson (a hair smller than the SDs, which are the biggest) and Kent Armstrong (slightly bigger than stock covered SX Hawk pups )

The ones in the second pic from top appear to have thick ceramic mags.
Might be worth a swap to alnico, depending on the wind.

The first pic, the bobbins are taller, which lends to a brighter tone.
