Cool, I was looking for an Ebony “61 with maestro, but could only find cherry ones.
Did they do a run of those or is that a actual custom order?

I’m not sure, I haven’t seen many though, I bought this one in 2011, I was looking for an ebony one for a while at that stage and came across it, and snapped it up

My first post here. What a good way to show my SGs: From L-R, 2013 50's Tribute, 2002 Supreme, 2018 Special.

Love the supreme. I was so torn in 2002 between the 61 and the midnight blue Supreme. I went with the 61, but god those are beautiful. I am a sucker for the custom headstock

Nice! The blue looks amazing against the two brown ones.

Looking at them, I don’t think they need it.

Agreed, they are gorgeous. Just commenting that I rarely see a entire stable without one. It seems more common for people to want them or add them. I like both on the right guitar, just so happens mine all have them

Thank you for the compliments! I'm typically a Les Paul/Hamer guy, but I've been beginning to play my SGs more recently.

For the record, I loathe pick guards and "poker chips," especially on non-painted guitars. I also don't like the plastic between the neck pup and the neck; that why my SGs all have 24-fret necks. Wood needs to be displayed, not covered up by a piece of cheap plastic!

You never had to buy an OEM tenon cover from Gibson, obviously.
Many places in this melange of misinformation you can find my pleas to folks not to put pickguards over viewable wood. I hope those pleas were less strident than yours.

Just finished polishing my SG and Iceman... yes I know SG only, but it deserves some love with its fellow shiny brethren.

Here's a photo of a friend's customized Iceman with other Iceman related stuff as a joke.

Oh so that's what mine would look like with pickup covers. I've been thinking about putting chrome covers on. Just for looks, obviously.

That’s hilarious. I do enjoy the loonof covers. For me I think My preference goes:

    1) nickel
    2) chrome
    3 Black

All that said, it is guitar dependent. And I do see the off satin special with Zebras and for some reason it just goes
