    I guess that's why this is my favorite SG to cover Santana tunes.
    I have no idea how many times I saw Carlos between 1968 (Santana Blues Band)and 1972, but at one point I saw him at the Sound Factory in Sacramento on a Friday night, caught him the next night in Berkeley and the following weekend at the Mountain Air festival at Lake Amador. N.Cali was a great place to be!

    Did you see a progression of amps he used thru that period? I know that's a long long time ago but you might of noticed …

    When I saw the Santana Blues Band in 68 he was using a massive Hiwatt amp with a tweeter enclosure on top of the cabinet, but that may have belonged to John Kay since they were opening for Steppenwolf. After that I remember Fenders and then Marshalls, then Mesa, but my memory from those days is colored orange Owsley.:cool:
