    Look what I found...

Never seen an SG Special Faded with ebony finish before. And to top things off it has an ebony board. This one is a 2009.

I have only seen ebony boards on the SG Special Faded with cherry, brown or worn yellow finishes from 2002-2004.

That one is interesting. Pups were replaced by hummer-sized P90s, too.

I would put a humbucker back in the bridge for high gain use and leave the hummer-sized P-90 in neck for cleans.

that's very cool, and the price seems fair for something unusual like this.

As a word of caution: I looked at some of the other guitars offered on the same page.
They have 53 "Gibson" ES-335 Dot re-issues for sale for $449 each... AND
they have 164 "Gibson" Les Paul Studios for sale for $550 each.

That smells like pasture pies to me, meadow muffins, bullshit... ya know.
I never heard of this model that you posted. Of course, I don't know everything.
However, I was pretty aware of Gibsons offerings in 2009, I suffered from G.A.S.
in those days. I never saw an Ebony faded special with ebony board offered then.
This guitar would have got my immediate attention, since I don't care for the red ones
and am a fan of the faded SG special.
I would never buy something without playing it first, and if I suspected it was
a fake, I would report it instantly.

It would be a shame to throw away $800 plus dollars on a fake "Gibson" that turned
out to be a POS. I don't know for sure if it's fake, but I'd want to confirm the Serial
Number with Gibson before even considering it.

I am very interested in this one, but...

The price is different everyday and it is a strange amount in dollars and cents priced on the high side for an SG Special Faded. There is only one photo and it does not clearly show the headstock.

I have not seen one like this before and the SG Special Faded is my favorite. No limited runs in this color with ebony board are turning up when searching online. I wish someone local to the area could handle it in person and verify that it is legit.

Maybe it was a finish that was not available in the USA?

I am now finding several 2009 SG Special Faded finished in ebony. Some have rosewood boards and some have ebony boards. I also ran across a white SG Special Faded with ebony board.
