I really like to see artists wielding an SG Jr.

Don't get me wrong, I love the more common SG varieties, too. But,there's something just very raw and no-nonsense about a Junior.

    Great pic, Alex.

In fact, I feel the ever-so-slight GAS twinge for an SG Jr., now.

Alex, curse you and your Aussie voodoo!!!

Went up the Valleys the other night to see Phil Campbells All Starr Band (Phil Campbell of Motorhead's side project). They were brilliant as were the support band Fireroad (who i saw supporting Little Ceasar a few months ago. The surprise for me was the second support (earlier on the bill, first on the stage) a band called 'The Texas Flood' from Swansea. Lead singer uses an SG VERY well. The clip above is the only one i could find on YouTube but they ROCKED!

    Well, boys and girls,

It's been a long time since there's been a post to SG Watch, but I've just run across another.

I just discovered this little gem. I might add, this is the coolest television theme song EVER!

Just for fun, here's the TV intro.

Just as I remember it as a kid!

Wow man, that just triggered a couple hours of watching 70's You Tube videos! Starting with the Ventures & their Golden hits. Never realized they had so many recognizable tunes.

Thanks for bringing the dusty old thread back!

Am I allowed to necro this thread? I spotted an SG grooving in a bit of desert rock. Nice shot at 1:32

Man oh man. That was one of the hardest I ever seen Jimi struggling to get some decent tone! Satrted out with the neck pup being weak despite maxing the volume, then he goes to the middle position & has this out of phase sounding trebly piercing tone that still has no ballz to the signal yet it is even squealing & feeding back! He's struggling again & again as he repeatedly twists all the knobs up like he missed something but I'm screaming "check your Cry Baby Jimi !!" "Hey Jimi, the roadie left your frikin crybaby on !"

It wasn't until after struggling for 10 minutes that he goes for the crybaby to find it was already on! Then when he's done with the lead we finally get to hear some fullness come back (well, it never had any in this clip) to that SG just in time for one last short verse & ending. I'm still not convinced the Cry Baby switched off after the lead & that maybe he just left it in a different position that just sounded fuller.

So my question after watching this is, was Jimi Cry baby broken or having trouble switching off during this show?? I know it wasn't on purpose because of his frustration repeatedly twisting the knobs up & the changing pup switch. Moist admirably it was a frustration which he hid very well & even persistently strives to power through while constantly reaching for the magic to happen. He never got pissed or disgusted even when things were hard & not what he wanted for 10 long minutes!

    Just a nice piece of R & R history & a fantastic testament to Jimi's musicianship & personality.

Rock On mutha fvkr'z, Rock On.

I also found an SG in here, doing what SGs do best (in my opinion, of course):
