SG with olive wood

    Hi This is my project, SG with olive wood. IS olive wood old 25 years old from SICILIA (ITALY island). I have used CNC.

    It's an unusual timber but I guess it's not good for commercial forests, i.e. not tall and straight.

    The grain looks beautiful. Let us know how it sounds :)

    I LOVE olive wood! I have long been admiring a set of salad bowls and utensils made from olive wood, but it's quite expensive so have resisted so far. I love the way that it feels silky, almost slightly oiled to the touch and it smells like olives! Are you going to leave it unfinished or stained? It has a lovely grain.

    Wow, wood from my ancestral homeland.

    I've played woodwind instruments like flutes, clarinets, pfiffaros, mizmars, etc. made from olivewood, but never a solid body guitar.

    I love it!

    THe control plate in olive wood. I glued the neck, I use little laser for fix in the center the neck. Luigi

    that's looking nice! good idea to use a laser for the centre line. i pretty much say this every day... "what an age we live in!".
    is that an ebony finger board? it looks nice and dark and slippery.
