Look what I came home with.

It was returned, in as-new condition, all paper but no strap or tool kit.

2015 NAMM Fender Custom Shop limited edition American Custom Telecaster.

Shouldn't be my cup of tea (I'm a traditionalist), but besides being gorgeous, it has a fat neck (beautifully flamed, rift-sawn), compound radius board, perfectly rounded and finished jumbo frets. Chocolate Rosewood board with a silky feel.

Hefty for a Tele, but feels balanced. And the tone...WOWZA!! Sweetest Tele I've ever heard. Plenty of clarity and chime, but full, with body. Sounds a lot like a P90 Goldtop, but with twang.

They gave me a good price, and good trade allowance on some stuff I don't use. Traded 3 guitars for 1, plus some cash, but in the end affordable. I've been playing the hell out of it since Tuesday.

Well. You had to have something to use those new picks on. Might as well be a new Tele. Looks nice.

    Very nice guitar, Paul.

I really like the redesigned Tele bridge.

But, I think the question on everyone's mind is what kind of picks you bought!

Orange Tortex Mediums (Dunlop). Not the pointy ones!

You failed then. In all the excitement you should have completely forgot to get picks. That way, if you start gassing for an amp you would still have a reason to go to the music store. :D

Completely awesome score except they built it backwards...........

On the note of picks, I think there is a percentage of guitarists who fingerpick religiously. I feel its just far more effective all around. Its a learning curve for some, unless you learned that way in the first place.

More importantly than picking, can we get a demo video of that Tele plugged in? I want to hear her howl!

That’s the first flamey top I’ve ever seen on a Tele that makes sense! Gorgeous :o

Really pretty Tele! I love Teles along with SG's, my two favorites. If you still had enough money to buy the picks, you did something wrong....you must have missed out on some other deal or something.
