Speaker coil size.

    I've been listening to 12" comparaison tests ... on You Tube, where else ... and I noticed that the larger the coil (thus the dust cap), the better I like the tone. More rounded, deeper growl, more defined too.

    Is it just me or ...

    That's a good question. I never thought about it but I suppose speaker designers use different coil diameters, winds of wire, magnet structures for all types of sonic reasons.
