So, I had enough parts around to make this rather unique purchase irresistible for me.

    Here she is, as purchased.

The frets were tall, so I wanted to bring them down substantially.

I brought them down so much, I had to use a fat, and then thinner fret crowing file to crown these. FYI, I found that these files work quite well with most frets so that I do not really use the freehand files much anymore.

Slowly but surely, they took shape. I find this part very therapeutic.

I began to get arm tired, so I figured I would slap on some hardware, a more easy going endeavor. This screamed for black hardware. Coincidentally, these China bought, no name locking tuners were a drop in replacement. The strap locks were a welcome upgrade too.

I shined up those frets and filed the ends tonight.

And then I started on the electronics. These are Kent Armstrong S90 pups. They came with cream covers. I had 2 black covers lying around, but they are both 50mm and the bridge spacing on this pup is 52mm, so I had to order a new set of covers. They are on the way.

    The only thing is that
1- I do not think I will find a strat guard with P90 holes, so I am stuck with the white.
2- As you know I was looking for a black bridge, but I would also want to change the jack. All in all it will be about $ 65. Is it worth it or should I leave the chrome bridge and jack?

It would look great all black, if you have a loose $65 lying around.

What about the PG? Do you think the white with black middle ply it came with work?

Sure would look better with a black guard. You either paint it or order a custom one.

The bridge and jack have been ordered. I measured once, twice and then again and it came out to the US 2" 7/32, or 11.3 mm between strings spacing. I hope my standard to decimal conversions were accurate because I found this surprising.

I have the GFS big block import strat bridge on my SX Hawk and it fit correctly as far as hole and string spacing. I had to route the block cavity a bit for the block to move through its travel unmolested.

Nice work, looks like you're getting substantial seat time fret dressing experience.
    I need more.
    What is your leveling beam?
I find it easier to remove bolt on necks to dress the ends of the upper fret ends BUT you need to know how to navigate in those shallow waters for set neck work anyway.

    Hope it becomes a favorite.

What are some inexpensive options for custom PGs? I can get one from Warmoth for $ 40, but I want to do better if I can. Thanks

    Thank you!

After measuring no less than 5 times, I found that the US spaced bridge (2 7/32) will fit this guitar.

I emailed GFS to ask if the block would fit in a 1 1/2" body (Callaham wants 1 3/4"), but based on your info, i will be OK.

I just used a standard leveling beam I got from Amazon for $ 30, but I only use that when I do not have the right size radius block. This FB is rather flat at 15-16, so I went with the beam.

How do you properly paint a PG?
