I recently was offered a DP-02CF from a friend who said it will not power on. I got to looking at it, and despite the power supply being a 12V Tascam, the polarity is opposite, as the power supply is center negative and the recorder is center positive. Before i say "sucka" and get it for cheap and simply get a proper power supply, did this opposite polarity cause it any damage let alone fry this?

I know in some pedals the reverse polarity can fry them. In this instance it's ok? Is there circuitry in place to prevent this or what? Not questioning YOU, just I don't know.
