A Telecaster ashtray looks pitiful compared to yours
Except it's entirely different...
Wow! Didn't know that Gibson makes these types of LPs... the "Lites". I wonder what the average weight is on this Classic Lite...
The body shape being hardly a different shape from a Les Paul means it doesnt count? Most of the LP knockoffs ive tried before werent of the exact dimensions either. Sorry to muddy up the thread. Ill get rid of that.
I will ask what makes it a Les Paul? The shape, pickup configuration, scale length, brand, or design overall? Does a knock off that has been modified still qualify?
Take for example those PRS models that are essentially just an LP with slightly different proportions.
I have 6 but am too lazy to go to my imgur pages to grab the links. I could post them but I'm sure no one will comment so why bother.
Good attitude, brother. You're what makes for a great forum.
The patents, licenses and trademark. "Gibson", "Epiphone" or "Maestro" will be displayed on the headstock.
I get it! Reverse psychology... Right? Ok, I'll bite: Please, please, pahleez, post your 6 LPs. One at a time, too. I promise I'll be a good boy, and respond with ooh's and ahhh's
All about the name on the headstock? What about that Tokai LP posted earlier in the thread? Or the countless other brands that have built guitars nearly identical to a Gibson LP?
I would classify them as Les Paul copies myself, mine in particular was set up like any cheap DC LP Jr. copy before I changed the headstock and pickup configuration. If you asked me Id tell you its the body shape that makes it a Les Paul. If it was an early SG thats still technically an LP I would refer to it as an LP SG. If it were a Tele shaped body with Broadcaster on the headstock, I'd call it that.
I'm too lasy to quote him, so I'll just say ... ahh nothing ... too tired.
You'd call all of these Mustangs?
Seriously, I think that the Tokai "Les Paul Reborn" were great guitars, but THEY AIN'T THE REAL THING!
My Tokai is actually a "Love Rock". It is definitely not a real LP, and I definitely do not care.

A friend bought this Les Paul '60 Tribute P90, the custom pickguard is perfect !
Is there an overview which Les Pauls have got satin finish necks ? I am not a fan of the thick paint put on some of the models I already had the chance to play (like Epiphone Standard Plus Pro or even the Gibson Traditional)...
