Did someone say Tweed Champ with SG?
Oh Yeeeaaaahhhh Baby!
Haha making friends already! Yeah who needs a dirt pedal when you've got a tweed champ!
Very sweet rig indeed!
Thanks, I bought the amp this summer, it's a 2011 and is MINT, I got a pretty good deal on it I think. It's definitely a one trick pony but it's a GOOD trick. Amp on 12, guitar on about 8, it clips and sags and snarls just right. Having said that, I'm probably gonna look for a bigger reissue tweed (or a Princeton Reverb) in 2017 to add a little versatility.
I played a couple of 2017 sg standards today at my local shop, Dietz Music, Omaha. They had a cherry burst and an ebony. One was a bit lighter than the other. I personally liked the 60 style necks on them, they were both easy playing, fast, light little guitars.
I thought the white binding looked great, particularly on the black guitar. I didn't like the knobs very much, but...whatever.
I think they are worth checking out, they have a much different feel than the 2016s do, and I must admit that I regretted not taking one home.
I was like you, a little on the fence until I saw the Pelham Blue, then it was all over. Knobs are $15 ;-)

The Gibson pointers aren't cheap but they aren't essential....I guess I threw about $70 on a few parts to make it a little more 60s looking. I had some new smaller Gibson strap pins that I added too, I don't like those huge ones that it came with. Next up, a GOOD leather strap worthy of a $1300 guitar.
Been playing mine without the pickguard and backplate because I sent them to Dan at MojoAxe to cut me a new wide bevel pickguard and cavity cover. I love that vintage look. and I couldn't get past the weird pigskin grain pattern on the cavity voer, but I suppose that's just me. In a week or so I should be rocking like it's (sort of) 1965, haha.
New plastic on the way thanks to Dan at MojoAxe!
That's gonna look a thousand times better when it's on. Please post pics!!
It's almost worth buying one just to see that cool packaging. Very nice.
Brass rear cover
Dunlop (Angus Young Style) Nylon Straplocks
They make them....
Any idea where? I'd love to get my hands on one
Check the Bay of E!
Yep...all over E-Bay
He made them and shipped so fast, money well spent i think. Looks a lot better too
