    1X10, 2X10, 4X10 ? This is the time ! Vox 10" for $15 and free shipping ! ! !

I've been wanting to build a 2X10" closed back cab for my Super Champ XD. If worst comes to worst, I'll flip them for $25 each.

2X10 obviously. Something I heard once was that 2 drivers on the same baffle sort of combine forces and give you more bass response than a single larger driver. So 2X10 > 1X12.

I have always wanted to get my brothers Blackface Bandmaster from him and build a 2X10 cabinet for it . Of course he never plays any guitar of any kind and just buys stuff to hoard so it's sitting in storage deteriorating. Damn shame really. He paid a grand total of $10 at a church rummage sale.

Yep 2 X 16 ohm = 8 ohm. Jut what the doctor ordered.
They just took them out of a bunch of Vox amps, to upgrade them for a special run.

I'm guessing they came out of the AC10s they upgraded with the Celestion Greenbacks, which have become massively popular - no wonder why, since they sell for only 50 bucks more than the standard AC10.

Not sure I'd want to jump on this. Seems the first thing everyone does with an AC-10 is rip the stock speaker out.
Most people go with the Greenback 10 from what I have seen (a speaker I have a lot of experience with and is phenomenally good). My guess is these will have the Celestion "honk" that all their cheaper OEM models seem to possess. Could be wrong, and I suppose for that money it's a safe bet, but I always have bad experiences with cheap speakers.

There's a reason these were being swapped. Part of it could be addressed via an EQ pedal. But to my ears and many people's this speaker has some shortcomings.

Will see, I'm not fussy. I like the size, I like the color, I like the name, I like the price, what can go wrong ?

If it sounds half as bad as this, I'll be happy.

Not fair! Andy could make a 1970’s RCA transistor radio sound like a Matchless Lightning.

They're here. Got to buy pine to build the cab now. It will be compact, 21" X 21" X 11".

I'm from the school that says, don't waste wood trying to make a cab too big, it'll just sound boomy. Been there, done that. I have a more minimalist approach to building cabs. I said 21" X 21" before, it'll be more like 21" X 18" so it fits neatly upright under my SCXD combo or horizontal under my Peavey Studio Pro.

¾" plywood is essential I think for baffle and back panel. I have leftover plywood, high density kind, I don't know exactly what it is, but it's heavy. For sides, anything can go. I'll get 1 X 12" (actually ¾ X 11½) pine and build the sides out of that. One less cut to do, width being already decided for me by the mill. It also looks better.

So for now, here's the baffle plan. Compact is the key word here. I want a good punch out of that cab.

Small pieces of contour cardboard ripped, that was probably stuck to original the Vox cab.
So it's not B stock, but b stock.
