Didn't I start this 8 page thread?
Thanks to all that contributed. I'll post the weight of my "new" 2008 white Epi G400 SG (hey, the truss rod cover says 'SG' ) when I get a chance to weigh it.
Wow, DBB, great to hear you got a white G. Full pick guard or 1/2? Post pics!!!!!!
Pics coming...small pickguard, one of the "Limited Edition Custom Shop" (!) ones, from Qingdao.
Congrats David. I love the white SG's and know you will make it sound great.
My ES175 was one of those Ltd Ed Custom Shop guitars. I wish I could hear you playing mine to see how you like the jazzbox vs. say your ES335.
I am really super excited you got the White G.
I'd like to compare your Epi 175 to my 79 Gibson ES-175. It may be closer than you think.
Some of the Epi's I've played have been quite good, including the hollow and semi-hollow models.
BTW, I haven't had a 335 since the early 1980's.
Dave -----you got an 08 G400/?? in WHITE????!!!!!!
Oh man you are going to LOVE it!!!!!!!!!
The WHite Witch getting a "spa day"
Yeah, a white Epi...and so far I really like this one. more later......maybe better pics.
Oh HELL YEAH!!!!!!!! Congrats! thats a sweet axe! thin neck 57 pups well done Sir very very well done.
Thin but wide and easy to play neck, the pickups compare well to the 57's in my copy SG and may be a bit hotter, for a hundred bucks.
Yep---and yep----ya got a good un there Dave. I think they put something "special" in the 08 models. lol
Love my White Witch.
Congrats, and hey WELCOME to the WHITE SG CLUB!!!!!!!!!!
My SG Junior has probably gained a little weight with the addition of the Graph Tech ResoMax bridge and Grovers but it was extremely light when I bought it, and it would still be very light. How are you guys weighing these? Just on kitchen scales? Or are you standing on the bathroom scales holding your guitars?
Sorry David, I almost typed ES175 but out thunk myself n put 335 instead.
My Gibson 2013 Chocolate '70s Tribute weighs in at 6.2lbs.
My Epi Black 1966 G-400 Pro weighs in at 6 lbs even.
My Epi TV Yellow 1961 50th anniversary SG (P90s) weighs in at 6.6lbs.
My Epi TV Pelham Blue Ltd Ed Custom Les Paul SG weighs in at 8lbs.
My Xaviere 825 tele clone weighs in at 10lbs... now that's a beast.
Epi '98 Cherry Korean G400 SG : ±3.6kg (±8 lbs)
Epi '61 Black Reissue P90 SG : ±3.2kg (±7 lbs)
Crazy what a pound difference will feel like. Seem like the Korean is twice the weight of the '61. I'll try to get my hands on a digital scale, I used my wife's analog bathroom scale
