I checked out the MF Stupid Deal and saw a rather nice looking D'Angelico A/E, but then noticed where the numpties put the front strap peg. WTF?

That seems to be in an incredibly bad location.

Yeah but it'll help you with that ZZ Top guitar spin move you've been working on

Not uncommon... My Takamine has it in a similar place. It holds surprisingly well and isn't quite as inconveniently placed as it might seem, although to be fair, mine is not a cutaway. Still, that high on the fretboard, you are probably not placing your palm or thumb on the neck anyway, since it becomes so thick at that point. Way up there, you probably won't even touch the strap button.

Yeah, I can't imagine what they were thinking. I also wonder about that dipstick on top of the headstock. Do they use a hydraulic lifter trussrod?
I tried one of their big jazz boxes a couple of years ago. Beautiful to look at, but super clunky to play.

At the thirteenth fret? I paid for 'em all, I use 'em all. Seriously. One of my guitars has a button back on the heel, but this one is clearly on the neck, like a coniferous redwood growing in the middle of the fairway.

Is it that an unusual place for it? Looks to be more-or-less the same position as on my 814ce (although maybe just a bit higher). I do find that headstock pretty upsetting, though.

ETA: I do have to say that it is noticeable when playing about the 12th fret, but it essentially disappears after a while.
