Love this clip and listen to it often. Jimmy's playing is solid, if unspectacular here, but his tone on this solo (and with Wings later on) is frickin' killah, IMO.

Interesting back story - Jimmy replaced Stone the Crows guitarist Les Harvey, infamous for being electrocuted onstage.

This is all good but if you really want to see a different approach to the guitar solo cut to 2:45

playin pretty good fer ole farts... tryin' to make a new guitar sound like an SG.
all right, we'll let it go this time, on the basis of genuine effort and showmanship.

people like to dis the Allman brothers around here sometimes, or at least D. Betts and his overpriced SG reissue, but I sure do like the way this sounds:

i was 23 at this time... it was a different world. not sayin' better, just different.
I posted this here just because I like it. And I believe Duane played slide on his
    SG.

All-time favorites are hard to answer. For me, the two that stick out aren't even the hardest to play (or the neatest playing), but one from Randy Rhoads and one from Jimmy Page. Both killer solos that help make the song.

nice to see BOC get some props here! I saw them in concert and they put on a great show back in the day. Back in my band days, I enjoyed doing BOC covers. Fun to play and sing.

Usually you can just copy from the address bar, but it

And a little Joe in the James Gang days. I sure enjoyed this growing up. So glad there is you tube for all the bands I never got to see due to being too young.

Can't say I can think of any that truly stick out as a "favorite." There's a bunch of them I like. However, as a trombone player and guitar player, I've always been a frustrated wanna-be drummer. I could mention drum solos that I can, to this day, still "air drum." A certain one from Iron Butterfly comes to mind.

Iblive,, I could not happen but notice the groove and stick work in the Walk Away video I posted.
Another interesting irony is how the James Gang drummer's name is Jimmy "VOX"
