I've owned a lot of Les Pauls over the years, some good, some bad, a couple great. For one reason or another they have all gone away but there was one that really stood out and I kicked myself continuously for ever letting it go - it was a 1996 Standard, plaintop Cherry sunburst finish. I vowed to one day get another like it but have been turned off by the lurid flame tops that the guitars have had for about the last decade but then I saw the Sweetwater Limited Edition LP Traditional Plaintops and knew I had to have one. Cherry Sunburst, '57 Classics, '50's neck profile and best of all NO WEIGHT RELIEF. Anyway, it showed today and here is my crappy cellphone pic in my office: And a full-body shot provided by Sweetwater: Initial impression of the neck shape and overall "vibe" of the non-relieved body is that I got back what I was missing from that '96. Looking forward to plugging it in and trying it out in anger.
