Thanks Frank, that’s very kind! I shall stick to my Republik eagle, it was meant to be. It’s dedicated to you and Wade, the Rev and the Texas blues.

When my Austrian coin pick stops yodeling, it actually sounds pretty good, I promise. I just have to break it in…."Brown Sugar" is coming along nicely!

hmmmm a coin pick?? The idea is pretty cool indeed, but I would be afraid to damage my guitar, especially is playing in a tour.

Hi Sérgio, you’re supposed to pick the strings, not the nitro lacquer. I wouldn’t use it to go windmill strumming Pete Townshend style…:ohno:

But, picks tend to disappear and get lost…and coins vanish in thin air, so a hand full of spares should be machined for the stage performance.

Just hold on to your very first coin pick. Think about uncle Scrooge and his lucky coin – the “No 1” dime. :)

John, of course you should pick only the strings rofl but accidental pickings do happen to the body of the guitar, that's why they invented pickguards :p

Anyway... I think I'll just stick to plastic and similar stuff...

    Best regards!

As A Kid I remember using ever damn thing you could try for a pick LOL!
Sergio I just sold three guitars becuase they were pretty very very
pretty without a scratch on them either and all fairly pricey
now I just bought another Ibanez a dean soltero maybe a thoroughbred
all three combined are less than one
I just sold why I decided FFF IT
I want guitars I can play take and put in some new pups and pots a
switch craft and IM still in way less and then well just play the **** outta
them screw worrying about dings and scratches.
    thanks frankd

Rofl Frank I'm honestly not so sure I quite understood most of what you wrote, but as for the "screw worrying about dings and scratches", well, I kinda think like that too, but I just don't force them.

Hell, I always say "Cars should be driven, women should be loved and guitars should be played", of course it would be stupid to keep a guitar in a silk-coated room, holding it with tissue gloves and freaking out if it gets a scratch, but come on, mate... I'd rather not using mine to drive nails or pick it with metal.

That's my point of view, everybody has one...

BTW nice LPs there. Do they sound nice?

    Best regards

Sergio I wasnt coming at you just saying as Of lately IM kinda thru
with nice pristine guitars I gotta worry about scratching or messing UP
I just wanna play I knocked over My Ibanez the other night I didnt even sweat it why its a 400 $ guitar with crappy asian electronics But in Truth
as far as neck and overall playability its every bit as good as about any
I have ever strummed ! and Sorry about my redneck typing / But Im allways
Pressed fpr time I been working 60 Hr wks I stay tired then I have my dogs plus my guitars Plus my yard work no rest. the Guitars In the pic
are dean SOLTERO STANDARDS yeah LP TYPES BUT made IN KOREA.
BUT Hey IF Leslie WEST PLAYS ONE EVERY NIGHT I will darn sure
give them a shot I will Replace most electronics eventualy tho.
    frankd
as far as how they sound mot bad with Leslie playing them

    lol peace, brother!

The thing about me not understanding what you wrote was because English is not my mother language, and although I can speak it quite pall right I still get puzzled sometimes.

Well, I wasn't coming at you either, no worries...

We're all fellow SG players here, and our music unites us!

    Ok, here we go!
I finally hit the record button. Here’s my short version of this epic Texas blues. I tried to cut to the chase…I hope the Rev doesn’t mind. (In the intro he lends his voice over a telephone line :))

I did try to nail a few of the licks. Some of them turned out to be more difficult than I thought. So this was a good lesson – Thank you, Frank.
