This is from a Standard, I assume a Standard and a Special would be the same wiring wise?

I posted this in the vintage section but it seems pretty quiet there. Has this been altered? The green an red wires look like replacements. Does a missing shield cause any issues?

I'm not a fan of LP's but that guitar is gorgeous.

I've been trying to work that out aswell.... I've seen a 1970 SG for sale that has the dot on the i.

Thanks for that. I suspect that those red and green wires aren't original, I've seen pics of these with witches hats but also with top hats.

Looking at some other cavity pics, I have a feeling those green and red wires aren't original? The cavity shield is obviously gone....

Another one I'm going to look at. If there's anything amiss, changed wiring etc? Is there a way to tell if the pickups are original?

I played the Townshend Custom Shop model today... I loved it. Lovely neck, pick ups roared, fit and finish were first class. I held back though... I'm at the two voices in my head stage... :ohno:

SG's with P90's arent that common here I've found. So many in the US but our dollar is crap right now, it just costs too much at the moment.

I'll look into a Classic.

Just wondering if anyone here owns or has played one? These are the one's that were limited to 250 guitars. There's one locally for sale for not much more than a second hand Custom Shop Special. It has all the stuff that came with it, cases etc, not that I'm really bothered about that. I'd buy...
