Vibrola is installed. Everything works great. First time stringing up a guitar with a wrap around bridge n Vibrola. Everything wants to move around LOL. Figured out to use some tape to hold things in place until a few strings were on. Only thing left is to switch out the old 7 slot nut 🤣. I’m waiting for a new one which is 40mm not ez to find.

Just an update on this. I still have a ways to go but the cut outs are filled in and wood dye is applied. I have lots of fine sanding to do and seal the wood dye then onto the nitro lacquer. A new pick guard is coming and eventually the ABR 1 bridge and short arm Maestro Vibrola. The new pick guard will cover most of the front that has been worked on so the back will be noticeable but better than that huge hole that was there.

That's awesome, are you doing all the work yourself?

Yes I did everything myself which saved me some money even with buying a few necessary tools. Last thing to do is to take it in for a setup and new nut installed. I could do that as well but I would like to have someone else check over the guitar as well to make sure all is good and I didn’t overlook anything.
Thanks!

Nice work! How does it sound now compared to before?

I went through a multistep restoration to replace a very poorly installed Bigsby on my 1964 Standard. I was very happy with the improvement in tone.

Definitely sounds better. With the wood fills the body is more solid a resonates better. 😀👍
