My Epi Monkey SG has come alive with the Cobalt Slinkys. I use .009 ~ .042s because I love bending higher up on the fretboards. Seems the P90's prefer the Cobalt formulae in the sense that the signal on the wound strings is much stronger than the standard Slinky set I replaced. If you are in the market for a new set of strings try these. Under O/D or distortion the effect is really noticeable too.
