    NGD: G-400 Walnut

Found this on GC Online listed as Natural. After looking online it looked like it could be a Korina or Walnut. Judging by the pick guard, it was probably the walnut. I took delivery today and I am very pleased. I wish the neck was a little chunkier like my 1966 G-400, but the color and...

Epiphone 2003 Vintage G-400 by NomeX posted Aug 4, 2018 at 5:10 PM Finally found one of my own on GC online. The previous owner colored the switch tip with a sharpie. Found another bound neck G-400, but it was an MIC, so I didnt go after it. I dig it, and was planning on changing the pups...

Thanks, The only difference between mine and the one pictured is I have abalone, maple top and not pickguard. Looks like they used newer stock photo with the old description.

NGD: ESP LTD Viper 1000 Deluxe

Not with the guitar at the moment, but the weight is manageable. Scale length is 24 3/4. I have an 80's LP that is made of lead, but this feels pretty light. Not as light as my thinner bodied G-400s and Sgs, but not uncomfortable at all. I've been on a tear with Ibanez ARZs lately, and this...

NGD: ESP LTD Viper 1000 Deluxe

When I started looking last year you could find them online from $250 to $350 with or without case in good to great condition. The neck feels very similar to the slim-D necks of my other G-400's, save my 1966 Pro, which is just a bit thicker. I don't mind the abalone inlays. It was between...

Check out these two sweet epiphone SG deals i found

Tough choice... the custom is a great price and the P-90 ones are hard to come by. I too vote buy both, flip the custom, and keep the P-90 one. I'm interested to see why there are rings on it, and the bridge is an upgrade from the one that came on my 1961 50th RI.

    NGD: MIK 2003 Cherry

I just want to try out my newly acquired pups: Lace Matt Pike Dirty Hesher Neck, Rio Grand TX/BBQs, Lace Brent Hinds. I've gotten G-400 after G-400 with the intent of changing out the pickups only to be pretty happy with the stockers. I play a lot of stoner doom, so I'd like to see what those...

Just brought it home. Haven't cleaned or restrung yet. I've been looking for one of these. It's a bit battle worn, which means I don't have to baby it. ESP LTD Viper 1000 Deluxe by NomeX posted Aug 4, 2018 at 5:28 PMESP LTD Viper 1000 Deluxe by NomeX posted Aug 4, 2018 at 5:27 PMESP LTD...

    NGD: MIK 2003 Cherry

After seeing so many of you talk about the MIK bound fretboard G-400s, I had to snag this one when I saw it! Bound fretboard, no veneer. I may change out the pups for one of the sets I have waiting for bodies. Epiphone 2003 Vintage G-400 by NomeX posted Aug 4, 2018 at 5:10 PMEpiphone 2003...

I let an $89 cherry G-400 go on GC online. It was fair condition, and I was lazy about calling the store. Oh well, someone got a great deal.

    Need a case.

I bought a bunch (4) of those Musician's Gear cases for $59. I have a bit of an SG problem, so I think I'll just get another 6-guitar stand instead of another case. The musicians gear cases are a bit hit or miss. I have one that doesn't close smoothly- you have to push in one of the sides in...

    Playing before you buy?

Almost all my guitar and bass purchases have been this way. I make sure to ask questions about the frets and neck, and when buying from GC online I always have it delivered to the store, that way I can give the guitar a few days to acclimate without me being tempted to open it, and also to have...

    P 90 question

I think I know what you're talking about, I just looked up some pics of the model you mention. Usually those holes are used to mount the P-90's in guitars without pickup rings. Seeing some photos of 1971 SG Pros, I notice there is a pickup ring on those P-90's, and the pups look like they...

    NGD! Epiphone Goth G-400

I have to say that mine has started to shine a bit in some high contact areas, like where my strumming arm rubs against the body and on the back of the neck. I have no problem with this, it shows that I am playing enough. One could take down the shine with some scotchbrite or rubbing...

    NGD: G-400 Brown with EMGs!

The bevel is lighter. I thought someone had stripped the guitar when I got it. I was going to gut this thing bit I finally got it up and running after flipping the toggle switch around and getting all the plugs oriented properly. Tight fit in the cavity! If I keep the EMGs in, I'll have to...
