    2 colors fingerboard ?

Thank you guys for the answers. I didn't know rosewood could be like that. You learn everyday. I'll give it a play and hear how it sounds. And sorry but, no, I don't have a pic of the full fretboard.

    2 colors fingerboard ?

The guy told me the guitar was bought brand new in 98 and nothing was never done to it. I wouldn't mind if it's just a natural thing that can happen, but I would if the fingerboard is made of two pieces.

    2 colors fingerboard ?

Hello, I plan to buy a 98 SG Special and the guy has sent me pictures of it. The fretboard has 2 colors... How comes ? Could it be 2 differents pieces of wood or could a rosewood fingerboard have naturally 2 colors ?

    Another french SG copy.

I found this while I was looking on a website for a 2nd hand Special. Modèle N°0312/19 Guitare CURTHELEY en TITANE - YouTube Don't know what it's worth but it doesn't look bad.:)

    SG Standard Limited

Good to see there are differents colours available. What is the tone difference between a baked maple fingerboard and a rosewood one ? Is it close or not at all ?

    SG Junior '60s

Too bad it has a 60's neck otherwise I'd buy one. The Junior with the small PG is the most beautiful guitar ever made.

It's around 1600Euros for the head only, with taxes and everything. So yes, it is expensive. About the "1/8″ aluminum chassis for the true vintage British amp sound" I didn't even notice it cause it's not an important point to me. :) If you want a good laugh about products...

You get it ! ;D When I got the Plexi 7 it was exactly what I needed. But over the last year I've been leaving the SGs aside and played mostly acoustic stuff à la Tommy Emmanuel (to be true, I try to play) since I bought a Cole Clark Fat Lady which is excellent for the price you pay btw. Too...

I send a mail to Matamp to get more infos about the valves used in the... King Street MKII... For the moment the winner would be this one http://www.dc-developments.com/cornell_new_rambler15.htm, as it has a less 3/4 switch it goes under 5 watts. But it would need mods like 1 gain on...

    Matamp Minimat ? http://www.matamp.co.uk/ I'd prefer a little half stack so it's fine. ;) I'll have a look at it. :)

What Is It With "Les Paul Guys?"

I guess when you pay that much for a guitar you have to be convinced, or worst, to convince yourself, it's a great guitar. That's maybe the LPGs problem... I had one, a Junior Special Plus. It was a really good guitar with a great tone and nothing (not too much ?) fancy. No binding, dot inlays...

Thanks for the info ! I googled for The Amp Show website (I assumed NJ stands for New Jersey ?), I looked at the exhibitor list and l checked every link to find http://www.voodooamps.com/home/Products/Amplifiers/10WattSeries/tabid/652/Default.aspx (of course last link of the list... ahah! :D)...

I was waiting for you on the thread Voxman... Are you telling me KT66s are better than EL84s or that's impossible to mod my amp with a KT66 ? I've been looking for long to find a good amp running with KT66 and I can't. For sure you find JTM45, Germino Clones, MetroAmp, and others but they are...

Thank you for the answer Javamagic ! In the end I packed the amp and send it back to D.Cornell in England as he's gonna be the best guy to work on the amp he has made, and the price should be almost the same than buying parts on my side and having the mods done by a tech I know over here in...

    New Pelham Blue Day

Really nice. How is the neck 50's or 60's ? It seems that more and more SG have a 60's and I just hate that neck. I thought about selling my Classic 3 days ago but to buy what, another Std ? Pfff.... Anyway, I'd love to have blue SG, I've seen a blue Std played by a guy in a bar, I think it was...

Yes, I thought about new tube sockets too. ;) What I'd like to know is if it can be done without changing half of the amp. ??? The Plexi 7 is in the style of the olds Marshall Plexis (obviously) with a 3 ways switch 1/4, 2 and 7 watts. The tone is a bit to "aggresive" for me and I'd...
