    why don't more SGs come with hum (b) / p90 (n) combo?

ya this is cool... but its like the only SG in existence from factory like this... also msrp in 2014 was $1.1k? tho i cant remember what i was doing in 2014...i do know i wouldn't have spent so much... instead getting a SGJ the yr before for only around $575 new.

    why don't more SGs come with hum (b) / p90 (n) combo?

just wondering why... but over the years and decades...Gibson has released quite a few LPs with that combo... was apparently a popular mod too back then too... even other brands have something similar... so ya i have GAS for a similar SG... ya i know u can put in a humbucker sized p90... but...

the SG-X with the bright colors were the sought after (after being discontinued as usual) Caribbean series. i do remember back then the SG-X being offered in pretty muted colors... like dark brown...some olive like green...and of cos black.

Epi Prophecy with EMGs-who has one?

i don't have either... but I've always liked the dirty fingers version... anyway the emg81... tighter low end...so not really boomy... which i guess is more dirty fingers territory...

    Sg Standard Veneer

get the ebony. the veneers wouldn't bug me that much if the grain was more honduran...kinda like the actual epi body which i believe is probably still Lauan... i remember at one point the epi sg vintage had a batch with veneers that almost matched the simpler body grain... instead of the...

    Help / Advice Please - Early G400R

the Korean G-400 with somewhat open book and dot inlays started in 1989... around that time... the MIJ Orville by Gibson also started up... so maybe the koreans decided to upgrade the G-400 to offer some competition... I'm not sure why the G400r is even considered limited edition... limited...

    Help / Advice Please - Early G400R

ya $150 is abit low... considering that even mid-90s G400 can fetch $250... so this would definitely be priced somewhere between that and however much a MIJ epi SG goes for nowadays... probably still around $700-800. so splitting the diff, i still say $500 is a fair price.

year on the serial doesn't necessarily mean it was released right away... so 6 months from being stamped June to getting into stores in 1990 during then sounds about right.
