The only problem with GAS is that I'm a university (college for you yankee's) student...money is tight...so buying an entirely new guitar is not really an option...especially after the Taylor.
I'll figure it out.
Bah....I'm not too sure what I'm gonna do yet.
I've always wanted a Strat...American strat. With a transparent blue finish...rosewood fretboard...chrome hardware, white knobs + pup covers...tortoise shell pickguard...mmmm i can picture it now...the Pepol signature guitar...Only problem is they...
Oh man!!!!!!!!!!!
Someone's gotta restrain me or something. Im going insane.
Well as most of you know, I have an SG standard. Well 2 weeks ago I finally bought my dream acoustic: Taylor 414ce....amazing guitar.
I said to myself, alright...that was $2200 big ones...no more!
But now I got to...
Almost all of the ones I've seen in stores are 2 piece. Usually split down the middle, but I've seen ones like yours too.
I saw a 1 piece 61RI a couple days ago, but that was the first time I've seen a 1 piece in store.
I played that exact guitar, same model, colour, bridge everything, at Long&McQuade (big music chain up here in Canada) about 2 days ago, amazing guitar. Way outta my price range at the moment though. Im in the market for an acoustic at the moment thats gonna cost me $2500 (Taylor 414-ce)...
Push pulls for switching between single coil and double. PRS did a great job with this IMO in their guitars.
Regardless, I know it can be done w/ a coil tap swithc...but i dont want to drill any more holes into my SG.
Hey SGers,
Well, I am quite happy with the pickups in my SG Standard as it is (490R/498T...stock), but I'm always open to swapping them out for a more jazzy/bluesy type of sound. For the last few months I've been a primarily jazz/blues player, and wanted to know what you guys would recommend...
I personally like the switch option you picked as well. The 3 way toggle plus the push pull pot. You have 3 options basically: N, N+B, B, then all of those options single coiled!
So cool!
Gorgeous!
I'd love to hear your opinions on it. I've played a Custom 24 and 22, and loved how they played. Wonder how a McCarty sounds since its noticeably thicker.
Yeah, my inlays are yellowish...not pure white. I love how they look.
Man...Charlie I know exactly what you're talking about. I saw a LP Classic at my local shop, the inlays looked like PISS yellowish-greeny...not aged looking at all. Just look bad...
PRS's crescent moons aren't quite like Gibsons. If you look at a PRS with "dot" inlays, they are actually little moons. Take a look sometime. They're round, but one edge is in a crescent moon shape.
Hey!
Nice lookin guitar! Im also in the market right now for a nice acoustic. Im looking for a cutaway, with a preamp builty in. And am also looking to spend around 900 Canadian (From Toronto, live in London). I get all my gear at this shop called "The Guitar Shop" (in Milton) and...
What kind of SG?
When I had my Epi, and when I played the 61RI in the shop when deciding on my Gibson I noticed that the slim taper and smaller neck joint allowed for A LOT more neck bend then the new neck joints. Just playing while sitting and having my arm on the guitar would change the...
Take it from someone whose bought an Epi, then swapped it 6 months later for an SG Standard: BUY THE GIBSON the first time.
I didnt think I "deserved" the Gibson since it technically was my first electric guitar (Im an acoustic player primarily...well I WAS :D). Save up for the...
