Once again, WHO CARES WHO BUYS GUITARS FOR THE KID?! This WAS a perfectly good thread until crap like that got brought up. I'll never know why people seem to have a personal vendetta against younger kids buying/selling/owning nice guitars, it's perfectly fine if your over 30 though right. :roll...
Arlabester, You should pick up a copy of the guitar player repair guide by Dan Erlewine, lots of good information in that book wich comes from decades of expierience. I went a head and looked some stuff up for you and heres what it said.
1. Give your tremelo a stable return point by setting it...
I had them in my Carvin for up untill it got painted. The (free)paint job took about 3 months so I put them in another guitar a friend was loaning me. He got atached to the pickups so I ended up leaving them in for him when he took hte guitar back. I really liked tem though, to my ear they cover...
Sorry, no idea how thick the cap is if it is a cap and not a veneer, though I dont think Gibson subscribes to the fake top practice on American made guitars. If no one else knows, I always love an excuse to pop into the Gibson Showcase. I think someone here has one though...

Bill Lawrence make some nice pickups... I've also heard a lot of good things about RS. Thinking of giving them a try. As far as the rest, I wouldnt mess with the bridge unless there was a problem with how they worked, or looked. I like Planetwaves auto trim locking tuners, but if the ones he's...
I had an epi I did this to once. The tip of the horn ended up shattering, probably since I just used a screwdriver to put the screw in.
I wouldnt alter an Iommi if I had one, especially is I had 5 other sg's to compensate. Wide leather strap is all I can recomend.
Also, since the sg supremes...
I'd put em in the silver burst with or w/o covers. +10000 on learning to change your own. Very easy, and it takes about 15min to an hour tops.
Ive saved hundreds doing it myself, enough for a cheep gibson or nice epiphpone for sure.
