HMMMM...From memory the 4 holes are in a symmetrical pattern like the 4 corners of a rectangle, if you had the guitar standing on it end, i.e. neck up, the top two holes are level. from the bigsby's I've seen ,one of those holes , the one on the right, would be higher. Don't know if I'm making...
ok, thanks for that info. the serial dates well within the 64 range and the pots are from mid 64. So I guess that means it was either finally assembled in 65 or the bridge is not the original one. Anyhow I'll post more pics as promised when I get the guitar back. Maybe you blokes can nail it...

I have just bought a 64 SG special, it's well played but in general seems pretty much untampered with, it has original tuners, pickups etc. There are 4 small filled holes where it looks like a bigsby may have been fitted a long time ago, but that seems to be it, as far as any fiddling around...
