No, you DO NOT have PermissionToLand.
I suggest you do your homework before posting out of the air lies. Gibson SGs, throughout the decades, have gone back & forth between ABR-1s and Nashville TOMS ie...
Hey,
2014 last year Made In USA all tube Peavey guitar amps.
I'm selling both my recording amps. They are both 30 watts each.
Both are in home kept, no smokers, mint condition.
Classic 30 has Blue Marvel 12".
Delta Blues is a 2 x 10 with Blue Marvels.
Both are extremely loud either played...
Hey Chubbles,
I have had many flawless Gibsons, the latest being a 2013 ES-335Dot Figured - a very expensive guitar compared to an SG Standard. My concern is that when Gibson makes a bunch of 'Special' edition guitars in bulk for ONE buyer (in this case, Guitar Center), they may be sending out...
Greetings,
I have an excellent condition, original equipment, stock and NEVER OPENED 498T bridge pickup.
Measures 14.38k at 74 degrees house temperature.
It is the original pickup out of my 2002.
I'd like to trade her for a STOCK, NEVER OPENED or repaired or customized Gibson 57+ Classic Plus...
Hey Guys,
I bought a mint condition 2002 SG Standard last year. I love it and it'll be burned with me when the time comes. Here's what I'd like to ask you - you being an owner of a genuine Gibson SG which was part of exclusive stock, made ONLY for GC.
I took my pickguard off to swap out pickups...
1. The paint goes over the bevel on frets. Clearly, that will be broken when frets are pulled.
2. Fret replacement is the job required.
3. They don't want to do it when paint or binding in the way as they won't replace it. Gibson does but, the price ....
We had a guy down by Naples named Ross...
Hey ... has anyone got a fret job done on your SG?
I'm wondering if I have to send it back to Gibson for this job, as the best repair center in Florida will not replace the paint or binding or whatever it is that's applied by the factory.
Being a 'stickler' for stock appearance and performance...
I'm loving the heck out of my 2002 Standard!! I was kinda shocked when measuring the resistance of my bridge pup. I knew it was hot ... just not THAT hot! It measures at 14.4k in my 74 degree house.
Howz about yours? I'd like to try one in my ES-335. Anybody got a braided wire one to sell??
On my 2002 SG Standard (completely stock), I decided to hear for myself the possible difference a bone nut and a Tusq XL nut would make compared to what seems to be a 'plastic' type of material Gibson used in this model.
I got an unbleached Bone nut (slotted) from AllParts and a Tusq XL...
Thanks Col Mustard ... My ABR-1 intonates right on! Mind you, the 'G' string and the Low 'E' string are maxxed total south (stop tailpiece). For those of yazz who have problems intonating individual strings; did you try reversing the saddle so that the 'flat' side butts up to the bridge body?
Thanks! I fixed that storm ... just pointed my ass north and farted ... pushed the darn'd thang towards the pan handle and missed us. I get GAS often as well.
I'd call Gibson Customer Support to find out "WHY" on such a new guitar, it can't be intonated BUTTTTT, before you do, consider these questions:
I don't mean at all to insult but, are you sure you are doing the procedure properly?
What is your bridge? Nashville TOM or ABR-1? Nashvilles have more...
Yuppp ... that's for sure!
My last brand new purchase was a 2013 ES-335 Dot-Figured. It came straight from the Memphis facility right to my door (warranty replacement) with a Nashville TOM. I almost pooped - you want to see an ABR-1 on this kind of instrument but much to my surprise, it was not...
I have a FirebirdV circa 2004 and I did try a USA made lightweight stop tailpiece on her. It is the only guitar of mine that did give me an audible boost of treble ... something I did not want in any way, shape or form. I wound my own pickups for her, ditching the ceramics, and after about 6...
Sorry to bug yazzz. I just figured out how to do a search and I found a number of folks who do have abr-1 bridges on their SG Standards! Now, I will rest assurred I wasn't screwed and will properly begin playing the heck out of her!
Thanks Guys!
I just called Gibson tech support re: ABR-1 bridge. They checked my serial number and said for the year 2002, that guitar should be a Nashville TOM.
They verified the fact that it is not a reissue of any kind - it's a regular, good lookin' Standard. This prompted me to take off the...
