1976 Gibson SG Standard for sale. Great condition for it's age with no breaks or repairs only age related scratches the worst of which is shown in the photos by the control knobs. Totally standard and un messed with example complete with tar back pickups and volute. The frets are the very low wide ones from this era and the neck is thin but not super thin. A lovely guitar which comes with a chainsaw case and owners manual although I'm not sure that these are original to this guitar. Plays great and sounds great too. I welcome any trial, I'll make tea while you play it through one of my amps. Collection only from Coventry UK. Offers around £2500. Thanks for looking.

Good Luck with the sale. Here is my '76 I got off ebay hee in the USA. A local pawn shop was selling it. I was able to see the actual guitar before bidding.

Nice SG, the owners manual may be original to the guitar but the case is certainly not. The case is from the early to mid 80's, it's a 3rd or maybe 4th generation chain saw case. The chain saw case debuted in 1978, I have a 78 Les Paul Custom with an original first gen chain saw case, I've seen other 78 Les Paul's that shipped earlier in 78 that have the standard non chain saw case so I'm sure the chain saw case came along mid year 78 (my Les Paul Custom was made on Sept. 22nd of 78). Chain saw cases are some of the best cases Gibson offered back in the day. Hope this helps, and good luck with the sale.

Cheers Guys. Yes it's a generation 3 chainsaw case, for anyone who is interested there is a video here showing all of the protector case generations.
