Just got myself a 2006 Standard in Ebony., and am very happy with it, and will post pics shortly.
I haven't found any reviews however and would like to find out if this was a good year for SG's?

Happy new guitar day, and welcome. Any guitar that plays, sounds, and looks good is good, regardless of the year. Looking forward to seeing photos.

2006 is not a good year and is not a bad year too .

If you like the neck profile that' s a fine Gibson SG, welcome !

Gothics look cool, but a standard is only a little more....and they are basically the coolest guitars ever! Best looking guitar ever made, basically a masterpiece.

Year class generally means nothing IMHO...
It's all about the tone and the feel, and the balance.

Those things are not limited to any one model year,
but seem to change because of hand work. When you
find one that sounds the way you want, and feels easy to
play, and inspires your music, keep that one. Never sell
it. You'll miss it if you do.

IMHO also, this is true of Les Pauls and SGs and ES style
guitars as well. Each one is an individual. More so than other
brands which may be more uniform, or more uniformly uninteresting.
*grins

That said, I love my '07 SG faded special! Merry Christmas!

Eventually got round to taking pics of my 2006 Ebony. There are the obvious little marks through use over the last 13 years, but still in good nick.
