One of my local cash converters has a cherry 2006 SG Standard (017160687). Weirdly it has lightning bolt inlays in the rosewood fretboard (they aren't stickers). Plain truss rod cover, no other 'Angus' appointments. Any of you learned guys have any thoughts on this?

I think a picture would be worth a thousand words here.

IDK, but I would call GIBSON @ 1 800 GIBSON and if the serial# checks out (in mere seconds, GIBSON should be able to tell you what exact model SG it is and what came stock on the guitar), see about buying it. Those In-Lays are NOT common from what I know, but I am certainly no expert. But they were on the ANGUS Sig. Models, yes? So even if they were routed/glued into the fret-board after-market it makes that guitar just a bit of a different guitar.....so, again, if the guitar checks out and functions properly.......Post some pics after you get it, eh ?
I often look for things like that. U kno, something just a little different than the current offerings and you may have found the ole needle in the hay-stack.
