2017 Gibson SG Standard Vintage Sunburst - Possibly The First Actual Pictures

So I received my 2017 SG Standard in Vintage Sunburst yesterday, It was quite a decision between the Heritage Cherry and the Vintage Sunburst and I couldn't find a single real photograph of the VS SG.

I picked the VS as it's different, but has a light back and neck unlike the Cherry Burst which has a dark back and neck.

I'll get some better pictures later when I finish work, but here are the pictures from the second I opened the case. Let me know what you think.

Beautiful! Love the color. I have a '76 Standard which I love but I've always wanted an SG with crown markers. I definitely would go with this color if I were buying new. I didn't need to see these photos! Thanks for posting.

yes, that instrument is stunning. Beautiful color, deep deep gloss, and it's an SFG!
Hard to beat. We'll expect a thorough review, including tone, setup, fit and finish
weight and balance. Be very sure you do NOT even mention the binding nibs.

Factory stock with Grover Rotomatics... And they look like locking tuners.
You'll have to tell us if the instrument balances. I'm one who claims that Gibson
SGs should never be modded with Grover Rotomatic tuners because the weight
is more that the guitar was designed for.

But if these are stock, we hope that Gibson has figured out how to balance it.
Normal Gibsons are designed to balance properly. We'll all be on edge until you
get a strap on that baby and hang her from your frame.

Hard to go wrong with an SG Standard... it's like The Standard!
Good choice, congratulations! Enjoy your new SG thoroughly, then return and report. The beat goes on.

That is a truly great looking guitar. Gibson is killing it with the finish work on all the 2017's I have seen.
