I jsut say that and have to say I am impressed with the way Gibson seems to be responding to what the players want lately. Oh and I especially like the fact they are not just making those uber expensive custom shop models.

Way to go Gibson O0 First you bring out the 50s tribute Les paul studio and then the 60s tribute les paul studio, then the 60s tribute SG special and now the SG standard 24. So many nice guitars and so little money

There's something about that altered crown inlay that reminds me of the Canadian Olympic team for some reason ;D

lol. Thats the only part of the guitar I don't like.

Looks like it has a standard neck in a '61 body.

Should have coil taps I reckon.

That guitar has absolutely no relation to an SG of 50 years ago, They didnt make it in Black in 61, The heel is all wrong and correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldnt the hardware be nickel?

To me it just makes a mockery of how great Gibson once was..............

I think the 50 anniversary guitars are just a celebration of all things SG and I'm going to the party.

We have the custom shop for in-accurate historical models!

Yeah but $2200.00 to have a sticker that sez "50th Anniversary" on a guitar that is basically a souped up $600.00 Faded SG, Sorry, I dont buy into Gibsons scam of fleecing thier customers with cheap guitars with a pretty name and sticker attached to it...............

Henry J should be ousted like Mubarak and replaced with somebody that truly cares about the legacy, history and craftsmanship of Gibson guitars!

I wasn't aware they had the 24 standards marked up so much. You sure about that axrab? I was figuring around $1200 street like a normal standard.

Nope, all Standard. Look at the bevels and knobs.

Don't listen to AxRab :nono: $2,129 is the list price on Gibson's website (not $2,200). So figure street price will probably be around the Standard.

Also, AxRab, it's not supposed to be a '61 Reissue, it's a celebration of the SG's history by being something we've never seen in an SG before. I think the 24 frets gives away that fact that it's not supposed to be a Reissue...

Also, my Custom Shop SG is "inaccurate" because the originals never came in Oxblood. That's why I love it.

If it had 25 frets it would be going for $2500.00......, and there would be suckers that would pay that............

Paying an inflated price for a sticker that sez 50th Anniversary.......

Jokes on You!!!!!

You're just unlucky I guess.

One of Zappa's custom made SG copies was 23 frets.

I like the idea of a 24 fret SG that is NOT an Iommi model. Hmmm a shredder's SG :coolsmiley:

Wow, I missed all those - I guess I can't keep up with all Gibson's various models anymore. Those are not to my taste, I need a humbucker by the neck. Nice instruments for someone else.

I should have said "2 humbucker SG".
