    So...

My Gretsch 5129 arrived safe and sound. It´s Fire engine red.

A very nice semi hollow body. Got it set up and the thing rocks. It has DeArmond single coils, whatever that means, other than they are single coil. It does not sound at all like a Strat.

I have to be careful because of feedback, but I can get some manageable feedback also, pretty cool. It is really different than my SG Standard, but, thats why I bought it.

The neck is rosewood and very easy to play, I put 12's on it and that really brought out the tone. It has a Bigsby and stays in tune if I don´t lean on to hard. It came with a very nice gig bag. All that for $450... blessed E.Bay :)

So, I´m a pretty happy camper, pic´s to come

    Mick

Thanks for posting, I'm very interested in one...

I think those pups are supposed to be like P-90s.

DeArmonds are awesome US made pickups
I have a few vintage Harmonys with them. The new ones sound less twangy which for most people is a good thing !

Aww, crap! I wouldn't be able to play it with that switch... it'd interfere with my strumming!

you play that far over the fretboard?

If that's the only thing stopping you from buying it I'm sure it'll only take some adjustment.

I don't always play that far, but sometimes I do, and I'd like to have the freedom...

Yeah, I'm sure it's an easy adjustment... I'm still not sure exactly what guitar I'm going to buy.

My friend bought a gretch Electromatic like the pic above, but in black.. great guitar but the bridge likes to move, you might have to apgrade to a rollerbridge
