Reminds me of a Robin Artisian. Really cool look. Gibson should take notice.

The builder just listed the build/parts stats:

    Stats:

South American Mahogany body and neck
    Eastern Maple top
    Holly headstock veneer
    Indian Rosewood FB
    Sheptone standard p-90s
    Pigtail studs and bushings
    Gibson ABR-1
RS Guitar Works vintage electronics with 50s wiring
    Kluson tuners
    Traditional truss rod
    All hide glue construction
    Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish

    and this:
"I am thinking about selling it. Do you have any suggestion as to what a fair/realistic price would be?"

    Beautiful.

Gibson should see that, they might hire some grown-up designers.

Nope, That project will continue as planned, but right now it's on the back burner as I got this Walnut SG to finish up.

The real question on any of these projects is: how does it play? How does it sound? Being pretty is fine, but if it is not a player, and if it does not produce a sweet tone, they aren't worth much. That is not to say I doubt that they play well or sound good. That aspect just never gets addressed.

    :)

For the time, and the material along with the craftmanship I think it's worth every penny.
I got to unload about $3000 for my wifes surprise 50th B-day in 2 weeks so I'm tapped out or I'd be grabbing that in a heartbeat !

    Thanks. O0

I went back and read through his threads. I wonder if he was able to come close to the tone produced by that '54 Gold Top he put up as his target.

    Very beautiful guitar.

I cut and pasted this reply from the owner.

"Here is the guitar in action. The camera microphone is being clipped, but you get the idea. Click the link to see the video.
