Hi All,
I have a 2019 SG Standard 61 with the Sideways Vibrola. Other than "CustomShop" what is the difference from the 60th Anniversary 1961 Les Paul SG Standard with sideways Vibrola. The price difference is $3600 (Can). I've been comparing their specifications and am at a loss to find where they are hiding the $3600. I still am interested in one, just curious on other educated thoughts.

The Custom Shop version gets more time in the handmade portion of construction, and is more historically accurate, e.g. 1-piece body, beveling, pickguard shape, control placement, truss rod, tuners, glue, etc.

Here is a nice SG '61 Standard Custom Shop, we can see how the horns and bevel are very well made. The pickguard is 5 ply wide bevel and pickup rings are M-69. The bridge is a Gibson ABR-1 screwed into the body. Hardware is nickel.

Thank you, I feel the differences are minor enough to stick with my Standard 61.

I had the chance to see and play one today. It was absolutely beautiful. But if I closed my eyes I honestly would not be able to tell the difference. I was quite pleased with the build quality of my 61 Standard and now I am even more impressed comparing it to its Custom shop sister. Ill save the money for a birth year guitar. (1966 if anyone is selling).
