"A-Punk" by Vampire Weekend: Cheerful easy riff, or frustrating string muting exercise?

    There's almost nothing to this song's guitar part, but damn if I can make myself hit just the two high strings needed. Practice, practice, I know, but dang.

    Kinda like tuning ur guitar to open G and trying to play some Stones type chording.not really to difficult but ur fingers are used to a different type of chording.needless to say i end up just givin up alot of times.

    Probably, already doing this, but... Slow it down until you can do it perfect, over and over. Then slowly speed up the tempo. If/when you mess up, back the speed down again. Rinse repeat.

    I'll usually lay an "unused" finger across the strings to mute the ones I don't want to hit just in case I do. Like when i'm playing a power chord on the D and A strings, I'll rest my middle finger on the E string to mute it.

    Nice video though. Probably filmed everything normal speed, but with slowed down soundtrack for them to hear. Lip-sync and the rets was then acted accordingly.
