I saw AC/DC last night for the first time since '70s. In the mosh pit about 10 yards from the stage (I'm too old for this) Angus played a regular black '61 reissue. AC/DC are still as tight as they were in the '70s. Bon was the main man then and Angus is the now. Brian didn't miss a note and rhythm section were the highlight for me. Angus soloing was not as fluid as I remember (but there was a lot of beer back in the 70s). He played a 20 minute solo towards the end which seemed a bit pointless to me but the crowd liked it. Set List 1. Rock N' Roll Train 2. Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be 3. Back in Black 4. Big Jack 5. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap 6. Shot Down in Flames 7. Thunderstruck 8. Black Ice 9. The Jack 10. Hells Bells 11. Shoot to Thrill 12. War Machine 13. High Voltage 14. You Shook Me All Night Long 15. T.N.T. 16. Whole Lotta Rosie 17. Let There Be Rock Encore: 18. Highway to Hell 19. For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) They're still essentially the pub band I saw in the '70s but they really put on a great show with videos, stage effects & fireworks at the end. They confirmed they are a world class band, up there with the Stones, the Who and U2, and still at the top of their game. When my hearing returns all will be good! p.s. Thankfully Angus kept is shorts on.
Sounds like it was a great show. Glad you enjoyed it. Sounds like you were too close to the stage for my liking though. I can't take that anymore. I'm too old for that too. I still do like to rock on though. Geezer style.(= lower volume)
I went to. i was sitting about 4-5 rows from the boundary line and it was just as loud. check out my topic ACCADACCA IN MELBOURNE
I saw them at Foxboro in Massachusetts back in July and at MSG in NYC in November of 2008. Foxboro was a much better show. Too bad they've played the same setlist for the last two years. I was hoping for something different the second time...
Sounds like a good time for ya. Re volume: yep, they are def not a band for those that don't like loud music. I can't do too much loud music these days but would make an exception for ac/dc.
Actually they aren't as loud as they used to be. Also Brian doesn't scream anymore; he sings now, and the guitars totally overpower him.
