Picked up a nice 2010 Standard from a good friend the other day. It's a nice compliment to my '62 Re-Issue. Very different feel and sound, but still all SG.. Loaded some 57 Classics in that I had laying around. Good match for this one.. 2010 SG resize.JPG

IMO, that's the most iconic looking SG Standard.

I got you, CG. Lots of big time players used them for sure!

I just noticed the Franz metronome on top of the amp.
Had the same one a long time ago.

True dat... When someone says "SG" that is exactly the image that springs to my mind.

Not to mention the "hat tips" to Herb Alpert and Sergent Pepper on the wall. When I meet new people who exhibit a depth and diversity of taste I know I have good afternoon ahead of me.

I agree, Bill. I have them in both SG's and my Les Paul. They really take on the character of the guitar they're in, IMHO... And thanks!

57's are great - were you tempted to spin one of 'em around to be out of phase?

I actually have that going on with my 1981 Hamer Special when I want that sound, Trypeus. They came wired like that from the factory. It's a cool sound that has it's place for sure. My two SG Standards sound very different. The 1988 '62 re issue is darker sounding in the neck and brighter in the bridge. I have a '57 in the neck and a Duncan '59 in the bridge. My 2010 has a '57 in the neck and a '57 Super in the bridge. The 2010 is brighter overall, but not in a bad way. Just different. More than you wanted to know, I'm sure!
