Wheeeeee doggies, that's purdy! I've seen plenty of Gibsons with grains that look an order of magnitude less pretty than that (not to mention multi-piece bodies).

So many factors come into play, I think only you can answer that.

I have bought a few pickups from Vanson on Ebay, they're based in the UK. Great sounding and inexpensive.

I like Vanson pickups as well. I think they are probably made by Artec as a premium pickup. Anyway, sold in UK

I was lucky and stumbled on a set of Probuckers a friend had just taken out of his bran new Epiphone. I didn't tell him he shouldn't replace them

Not that the Alnico Classics weren't good. I kept them, they might eventually go back in just for "why not ? ".
