Are we saying the that maybe once you've been through the Mexican Hat Dance (pedal wise) we realize that it's the pure guitar that is the most important? Then those that get their first guitar without pedals and such, begin pure and end up pure and all the in between is nothing more then trying to find that thing which enhances the pure sound......? If this pure sound idea got out, it could mean a problem for the pedal industry...

Oooh, I get to tell a favorite road story.
Once, there was a guitarist with a big-time Nashville act, who came to the tour with a six-foot Rack-o-Stuff. Endless fights with his sounds. Wailing and gnashing. Awesome gloom on deck.
After a while, an opening act arrives: a swell bunch of Kentucky cats featuring a lead guitarist by the name of Greg Martin. They get going on sound-check and just tear the house down. Great joy throughout the venue that afternoon.
After the check, the big-time Nashville guitarist walks up to Greg and extends his respects. "Great, great, sound, man. What kinds of effects are you using?"
Greg looks at him and spills the beans: "A cord."
There were crew guys running out of the building to keep from laughing out-loud in front of the wrong people.
I seen it with my own eyes.
Sure made me think about it. Just about ever since, I'm a mainline kinda guy.
