image.jpeg I've been switching things up since my Silkyn went down... Lately I've been playing through my 18watter Superlite, in to an Orange PP112, loaded with a WGS Green Beret. Today's playtime included it in tandem with the Tiny Terror that's plugged in to the WGS loaded 2x12 laying horizontally.
New phone for pic's yay! You might even be able to read my crappy handwriting on the 18watt's faceplate.

The Suhr I posted earlier is for live work and practices with the guys. For playing at home, it's one of these two (usually the Yamaha THR10)

SGJohn,,,,,,,,,,,,, what is the smaller 4x12 cab on the right? Is it a 300 watt 1960 lead with the 3 hole switchable Mono/Stereo cab?

I'm down to three amps now. A Mesa TA-30 1x12 combo which is my main gigging/jamming amp. A Blackstar HT1RH which has been my home practice amp for a couple of years. A Traynor 50 watt SS 1x12 combo amp as a backup for the Mesa. Once I got the Mesa all my other amps became superfluous and were sold or traded. The Mesa has two channels. A Vox channel with normal and top boost voices. It sounds better than my AC15 did. A drive channel with Tweed, Marshall, and Mesa voices. With this amp I can cover any genre.

I only have two amps now...a pair of DSL40C' s and my old Boss effects from the 80's and 90's. They serve as both practice and live amps.

I use my 2002 Marshall MG50 for students and I'm giving my restored 1997 Marshall Valvestate VS265 2X12 to my 8 year old for Christmas.

    I'm way downsized...but they have tone in spades.... IMG_20161108_39472.jpg IMG_20161007_51788.jpg IMG_20161113_8590.jpg

Had them cranked up last night in the living room....the tone is just phenomenal. Normally, I just plug into one (or both) DSL40C's, but last night, I was running the CS-3/GE-7/DD-3/NS-2 (in that order) and the edge, tone and attack was simply amazing....just had to share!!!!

Sick!! I had a GH50L and matching 4x12 with Greenbacks. It was such an amazing amp.

Stupidly, I thought I wanted to downsize so I sold it all. Now I wish I hadnt, though I do like my Orange rig.

How is the Stage Source? I have a Helix, but run it as a pedalboard into my JP-2C without amp/preamp modelling - sounds great, but I was thinking of getting a Stage Source as a "backup" in case my JP-2C goes down at a gig. Is it loud enough for gig situations? Does it "feel" like an amp?

Ha ha ... minimalist. Yeah, compared to some in this crowd, you surely are. Feels good to know what you want, get your priorities right and act on it. You need a smaller pedal case then.

I know my way of doing things is weird to some...I always felt like if I couldn't play all my gear at once it was needless.

Those pedal cases...I've had since the 80's....

Got raised to be practical and take care of what little we had. I still have the Pinewood Derby Car my Dad and I made in 1974.... IMG_20161127_51962.jpg IMG_20161127_46612.jpg

Jams, rehearsals and restaurant gigs where size matters: Orange CR35. Tiny. Light. Built-in tuner and effects. Decent enough sound. It's actually possible to tuck the amp under my arm, hold a guitar case and have a hand free to open the door.

Anything else indoors: Marshall 18-watt clone head with Orange 2x12 cab.

Outdoors: Marshall JTM45 head with one or two Orange 2x12 cabs.

Never sounded better. I don't want or need anything else.
