It is a classic look, I still have the black one just in case. The p 90 black covers are a bit too much black, I have creme covers coming also, may get some chrome ones just to see if I like them.
Believe it or not, they really are oven knobs. Back in the fifties, early sixties, Rickenbackers used to come with knobs that they sourced out from knob makers who made knobs for stoves and ovens. They really are knobs that went on ovens and stoves. Ric owners do not have to buy them from oven makers any more...there are a few guitar parts companies that sell the oven knobs.
A green mint pickguard should be fine. I have one for sale, brand new. I can post pictures if you are interested.

Totally agree!! Too much black. The cream P-90 with black guard...”maybe” would need to see how it looks what about nickel P90 covers and black guard? Chrome is very cool but nickel gets that “warm” look to it. After thinking about it I would definitely do black guard with nickel P90 covers
I think you'd have to block everyone that posted in that thread except you if you want to come to that conclusion.... Anyway, just couldn't resist pulling your leg. (But I do respect your opinion more than a Rickenbacker guitar...)
I appreciate the offer but I have a guard coming, and it is a p 90 guitar. But mint might be a solid option I had not really considered.
I had a blue Strat with a mint green pickguard - that pale green tint really killed the blue, so I swapped it for aged white - basically a fancy name for cream.
So after a little mock up I am thinking black with creme covers. I wasn't sure on the knobs so I bought a set of amber but they went on my double cut instead. I still may go with chrome domes but the silver tops may get the nod.
Thank you and yes it is still I'm the table, but I just got the creme ones and wanted to see how they looked first I got the creme pearl pickguard and it was a no go.
