Hi Everyone, After being on this planet for the last 48years, I have decided to do something I have wanted to for most of that time....learn guitar.
Of course, if you are going to buy your very first guitar after all that time, what do you buy? Do what I did and get a brand new SGJ in Cherry.
Awesome guitar...love playing it...albeit badly at this time :applause:

If your guitar looks like this aussie_pete, then I think it's as sharp as a knoife!;) Congrats on your purchase and have fun learning how to play...take your time. I'm self-taught after 25 years of playing. There are many different methods to learn how to play guitar...endless amounts of videos on YouTube. Have fun.:jam:

Thanks for the warm welcome

Hi everyone, thanks for such a warm welcome.
Yes, my cherry SGJ is just like the one in the pic. I am teaching myself with the aid of Youtube, various tab programs/sites and mates.
I play mainly AC DC (at this stage) but want to get into some other styles as well. I had wanted to play for as long as I can remember, working part time as a roadie for local bands when I was younger, I was always envious of the guys who could play.
My issue was that I simply could not get my head around learning music. The whole concept of quavers and semi quavers did my head in so for too long I had resigned myself to never playing a note.
Then a mate asked me if I had tried guitar tabs.........
Who knew......:dunno:
and now I'm away.
I will never be a concert guitarist nor will I ever feature on stage somewhere but I just love playing. I'll get some pics of my SGJ and post shortly.

Welcome! Can't go wrong with an SGJ and you'll find many fans and owners here. The guitar I'm learning on is also an SG, no problems with that! Mine's a Faded, but if I had decided to learn a year later it would have been a J.

"I hope your chooks turn into emus, and kick your dunny over!"
