I had never heard of the guy but he's a Nashville session man. He's trapped at home with no work (no recording, no shows allowed) so he started doing a daily youtube video where he sits in his garage, chugs a bear and talks about life, music, stories about the music industry, and usually some topic on playing guitar well. They are more philosophical in nature than technical or theory based, and tend to be pretty interesting. Playing with touch, playing with intensity and purpose, that sort of thing. Often highlighted by an interesting or funny story from his personal experiences. I'm enjoying it a lot. Here's the channel home, if you haven't stumbled on it yourselves yet: https://www.youtube.com/user/501chorusecho/videos

He seems to favor vintage Gibson's and the guitars he's playing in his garage just make you shake your head. And he occasionally breaks out his '65 (I think) SG. Here's one of him just jamming on it for the hell of it. Great player, interesting guy.

OK, this I've got to see, thanks for the heads up :)

Edit: Well that was fun, now I've got to watch the rest to see the bear...

HAHA He looks like a bass player friend of mine.

His Garage also reminds me of another friend who plays out in his garage full of different amps and cabs.

First I've heard of him. Love the video you posted above. I'll be checking out his other stuff for sure.

I like Tom's playing! Easy to understand why he gets the studio calls. Take a little riff and come up with a few minutes of interesting music on the spot. His SG looks really clean too!

That's a huge garage...at least for european standards.
Anyway, thanks for the tip. I will definitely look into a few of these videos!

I stumbled onto his videos a few months ago. They're not really "guitar lesson" videos, more like you're hanging out with him, but he usually sneaks a tidbit or two that makes me go "Oh, that's how that works!".
