Anyone ever dealt with http://www.guitarfiles.com?

Hi Guys,

Back from my Holiday and just dusted off my SG! Just wondering if anyone had ever dealt with http://www.guitarfiles.com
I ordered a Tony Iommi pickup on the 18th of January and I still haven't got it. They emailed me on the 23rd of Jan to say it was out of stock but they expected some in early Fed. Its now early March and I'm losing patience, I wanted to upgrade my guitar with that pickup and one I already have. I emailed them once to ask how the order was progressing and got no reply. I emailed again about 2 weeks ago before I want on holiday and have just got back to find no reply in my inbox.

I was wondering if anyone else had ever ordered from them and if anyone knew if they were reliable at all? I'm going to email again tonight and if I don't get a response by the time I get back from my week away for work I'm going to write to Paypal.

The Iommi is backordered from Gibson (along with ALOT of their pickups). I have been waiting for 6 weeks or so. I just found out yesterday that the new expected date is April 1st.........but I'm not gonna hold my breath.


Actually, I just snagged a pair on ebay.

I finally got a reply from the shop and they said they were still on order, I think Bruce is hoarding them or something!!!

What is Gibson playing at?

Do you consider the prices in the USA expensive for pickups? I paid around £80 for the one I ordered from America, it'd cost me around £130 to buy one from a UK supplier. :?

yep!..they'll probly jack the price up by the time you get it.....and you'll still be happy!! :evil:

From what I see, some seem to think they are high and it depends on which you are looking at. Now me on the other hand, I'm a run what you drung type and haven't really considered changing, upgrading, up fitting, or looking for the better sound. I love the sound any good guitar makes and enjoy that.... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of guy. But don't get me wrong, if you or anyone else is into it, then by all means go for it! More power to you.... or the guit.....! I'd just rather take the money to upgrade something with like tuners, pups, caps knobs, finishes, jugs, headers, slicks, etc..... and put some money with it and get another SG.......................... IMHO. 8) 8) 8)

i think it's true...sometimes it's the player..not the guit sixxer!! (not that i'm one of em...)

SRV used to talk about how he and his brother could get the same sound out of totally different guits with technique....

Uhhhhh yeah? But I'm not SRV!! Nor will will I ever be as good as him, so I depend on equipment to change my sound rather then technique!
