It looks cool but of course is pricey. 200 in the world with 42 going to Europe from what I've read. Ebony Fingerboard, Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates Pickups, & in Angus Cherry Colour.
God I want that! That should have been the Angus Sig in the first place. But $5,000? Too much. And no thanks on the Seymours. SD designed the PUPs on Angus's guitars for the current tour and his tone sucks on this tour.
Look at the heel joint. It looks just my '70 did and it has the broom handle neck size it appears. Everything but the volute and the top end CC screws were at the corners.
His Wilkes-Barre tone back in October of 08 was way better than it is now, but they bias the amps hotter than what they should be too and that could be part of his tone not being up to his typical standards....
I heard nothing but good things about the sound this past tour. Pearly Gates are good pickups for SD's kinda like 57's with a little more midrange. I prefer the openness of the Alnico 2 by SD, but those are good pickups for Seymour Duncan.
I saw them in Nov. '08 and in July '09 and Angus's tone sounded the same for the most part. His tone on the new album sucks but I blame O'Brien. Angus sounds digital and totally drowns out Malcolm so you lose the Gretsch-y rhythm that is a huge part of their sound. The tour isn't as bad as the album but still isn't what they used to be. Thought some of you might appreciate some photos. I walked into Sam Ash in NYC today after work and took some mediocre iphone photos of the new Gibson Angus SG. Not something I would/could ever buy, but they do look really cool. I own a 69' sg standard and these still look very good to me. On the other hand, the Robbie Krieger model at the same store does not look nearly as good. Somehow looks more phony..
Read they were 2 pieces mahagony body, Look at my 1 piece body for lot more cheaper! Will they really dicontinue the current model (non CS)? I gues mine will become a collector!
WOW! From those pics that guitar does look really good. On the 3rd pic the guitar on top looks like it has a thinner neck than the one below it...? I would like to just play one of these just once.
I WANT IT SO BADDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!! I have wanted this guitar SO BAD for SO LONG I can't believe they actually issued a copy! Why does the one on the front look less dinged/aged/relic'd? Is there a VOS version AND an Aged version? roolin: roolin: roolin: roolin: roolin: roolin: roolin: roolin: roolin:

What were the prices on these? Just curious how close they stick to the MSRP ? There were no price tags and I knew it was out of my range... I'll ask them next time I'm there.
Well, the first one has hit ebay guys. Not a bad price either, and looks like good feedback on the seller. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Angus-Young...QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?hash=item2a0292a69e I do like the looks of that "aged one", but I think I will buy the VOS. For one, its cheaper! Second, I am just to anal to spend that much cash on a guitar that looks like its been around the block. Does that sound dumb? Although... it is pretty fricken awsome that angus signed the back of the headstock and numbered it instead of stamping them. What if it wears off down the road. No one will no what number they have? Well, off to the music store to see what kind of prices I can get :-\ This will be the first guitar I hav eever had to finance
